Each year on June 29th (the Catholic feast day of St. Peter and St. Paul), Fisherman's Birthday is celebrated in Grenada. The fishing town of Gouyave in the parish of St. John, is the most popular town for this celebration. Church services and the blessing of boats and nets are followed by boat races and late afternoon street parties.
